Anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine

19/02/2025

On Monday, February 24th at 6:00 PM, theaters across the country will symbolically commemorate the three years since the Russian Federation's army invaded a neighboring country.
We commemorate this to remind us that the culprit of a war is always the aggressor. And it is he who can stop the conflict immediately.

On Monday, February 24 at 6:00 PM, on Václav Havel Square between the historic National Theatre and the New Stage, we will commemorate Ukraine's unequal struggle against the aggressor by playing the Ukrainian anthem performed by a single musician. The musical performance, which will last several minutes, will be streamed on the First Stage's social media.

The Švand Theatre from Prague will commemorate the "anniversary" with a post on social media in connection with the successful studio production of The Trojan Woman, which was prepared by Ukrainian artists (directed by Anna Turlo, set by Ruslana Basenko, costumes by Olena Zahrebina).

The Moravian Theatre is planning a photo exhibition from the second year of the Theatre Through Play project with Koločava on Monday, February 24th at 6 p.m., followed by the performance The Perfect Wedding with Ukrainian subtitles.

The Na zábradlí Theatre will commemorate the sad anniversary not only on the theatre's social networks, but also in the foyer before the evening performance. The Centre for Experimental Theatre in Brno will commemorate the ongoing financial and material collections and the possibilities of your own involvement in the activities of non-profit organisations in Brno on social networks.
