Vitamin D or Theatres Together!
Theatre artists from various corners of the country have joined forces in a unique, joint project that will allow all audiences to be part of it. Representatives of thirteen theatres from Cheb to Ostrava have devised a joint creative challenge, within which each participating company will create and film a production on a common theme within just 72 hours.
The results of this adrenaline marathon will be broadcast on May 9, 2021 at 6:00 PM in an extraordinary live broadcast from the FX Šaldy Theater in Liberec on the YouTube channel Vitamín D. This is a joint challenge that is unparalleled in the Czech theater space.

The idea was born at the FX Šaldy Theatre in Liberec. The theatre people there first approached several friendly companies and then came up with the whole project together. They sent an open call to all professional theatres in Bohemia and Moravia.
In the end, the following thirteen theaters joined the project: Antonín Dvořák Theater Příbram, FX Šalda Theater Liberec, Josef Kajetán Tyl Theater Plzeň, Puppet Theater Ostrava, Mír Theater Ostrava, Klicper Theater Hradec Králové, Kladno City Theater, Mladá Boleslav City Theater, Most City Theater, Zlín City Theater, Naive Theater Liberec, East Bohemian Theater Pardubice and West Bohemian Theater Cheb.
What is the magic of the three-day adrenaline challenge? Imagine three days and nights of joint work, in which the entire theater operation participates. It is not only actors, directors, dramaturgs, designers or musicians, but also technicians, lighting, sound engineers, wardrobe, hairdressers and many other people. Everyone is irreplaceable and everyone goes all out to defend the colors of their theater. The feeling of mutual cohesion and support is exactly the vitamin that we all need. We believe that the audience will feel the same way. Although we are not primarily interested in competing with each other, we would be very happy if the audience participated in the vote on which production interested them the most. This way, they can support their favorite theater, but they can also appreciate and support the originality of other ensembles, which may be operating in a city where they do not normally get to.
The project is inspired by events such as the 48 Hour Film Project or the Kladno Theatre's Little Dionysies. It is a unique theatrical format for this time: an instant form of live theater that can be delivered to audiences across the country.
