Audition for the position of director of the South Bohemian Theatre

The statutory city of České Budějovice announces a selection procedure for the position of director of the South Bohemian Theatre, a contributory organization.

Candidate qualifications:

  • University education in a master's degree program, in art, economics or law, according to the catalog of works (Government Regulation No. 222/2010 Coll., as amended)

  • knowledge of the legal system of the Czech Republic, especially legal issues in the field of culture, knowledge of the economic and legal principles in which a contributory organization operates

  • orientation in the field and cultural overview

  • 5 years of experience in the field of culture, of which at least 3 years in a senior management position

  • Knowledge of English or German at level B2 is an advantage

  • excellent organizational and managerial skills

  • negotiation skills, communication skills

  • time flexibility

  • criminal record and compliance with general requirements for the function of a statutory body within the meaning of the relevant provisions of Act No. 90/2012 Coll., as amended, on commercial companies and cooperatives (Act on Commercial Corporations).

  • officially certified copy of the highest educational qualification

  • a structured professional CV, containing information about previous jobs and professional knowledge and skills, publishing, teaching or other significant activities, work in other professionally related organizations

  • motivation letter

  • a written management concept for the South Bohemian Theatre for the years 2024 – 2029 – development of a four-ensemble theatre with supra-regional and cross-border activities, including setting partial goals, e.g. in the areas of audience development, fundraising, marketing and a vision of cooperation with cultural entities and the Budějovice 2028 association within the preparation and implementation of the ECOC 2028. The concept will include an expression of the position on the possible intention to build a new South Bohemian Theatre

  • a criminal record extract not older than 3 months, a foreign national must submit a similar document.
