Forum on the Future of Culture
The two-day Forum on the Future of Culture will take place on September 20-21 at the Divadlo pod Palmovkou. The conference on the topic of public institutions and their place in the 21st century will be opened by the Councilor for Culture of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Hana Třeštíková.

What philosophical and social perspectives do we associate with a public cultural institution such as the established theater today, and can the New European Bauhaus serve as a compass for them?
What arguments for maintaining public cultural institutions stand up to current crises, and how should established and independent theatre complement each other in an ideal world? How can the potential of cultural institutions be better exploited by cities and communities, and what economic and legislative obstacles do they face?
The Forum on the Future of Culture Prague, entitled Theatre as a Public Cultural Institution of the 21st Century, will seek answers to the above questions. The forum is being held as part of the Forum on the Future of Culture, which was initiated by the Warsaw theatre Teatr Powszechny in 2017.
