MgA. Tomáš Jarkovský
Tomáš Jarkovský is a Czech dramaturg, screenwriter and director who has been the director of the Drak Theatre in Hradec Králové since January 1, 2020.He graduated from the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where he met director Jakub Vašíček, with whom he formed a long-term creative duo.
Together with Vašíček, they founded the Czech-Slovenian theater group Športniki, which became famous for productions such as "Back to Bullerbyn" based on Astrid Lindgren or "Gagarin!" inspired by the life of Yuri Gagarin.Their work is characterized by modern adaptations of classical works, often aimed at young audiences. For example, they performed "Hamleteen", "Closely Watched Trains" and "The Housewife's Roba" at the Alfa Theatre in Pilsen.
